Call of Duty MW3 – Un-jamming the jamming tower

01.14.12

Taking down the jamming tower in Call of Duty MW3. After an intense gun battle in the New York Stock Exchange, I guess they’re not trading today, I am out on the roof top destroying the jamming tower the Russian set up to dampen our communications.

This video was taken while in Single Player mode and demonstrates some of the spectacular graphics of a battle torn New York city. If flying between skyscrapers being chased by a Russian gunship doesn’t get the heart rate up, check to see if you are awake. This game is awesome.

Modern Warfare 3 comes to us by way of an older engine, but still looks great. While it’s not among the very best out there nowadays, Modern Warfare 3 performs well. Entire battles are waged before you; buildings burn and crumble while a steady flow of explosions batter your senses. At any given time the screen appears ready to burst with effects and visual madness. This is Call of Duty, and Modern Warfare 3 displays all these battle scenes in all their 60 frames-per-second glory.

I am playing Battlefield 3 at the same time and comparing the two games, so check out the other videos.

Battleifield 3 – Thunder Run – What kind of millage do you get per Tank?

01.14.12

Change up from smelling the sea air, flying the F/A 18′s off the deck of an aircraft carrier in the “Going Hunting” mission, to the desert air, rolling with your mates in a tank squadron. Once again, you really get a feel of what it would be like driving a tank, firing the main gun and the machine gun in this mission. It is one of my favorites.

You, Corporal (E-4) Miller, are in full control of the tank, so you not only drive it, but also may fire the turret or co-axial machine gun and direct the Hogwarts in on a raid from above surveillance point in a later mission. Mission Update (extra task): Scrap Metal Destroy 6 enemy tanks before reaching the fort in Thunder Run Scrap Metal is the bonus task on this mission.

This extra bonus task is to personally destroy six enemy armor units before you are ordered to stop and switch to the UCAV view. There are eight tanks for you to toast, and you may satisfy this condition on the Easiest Difficulty Setting. Mission Objective: Defeat Enemy Armor After a bit of travel, you will come across six units of enemy armor.

One solid strike from an armor-piercing fin-stabilized discarding sabot round on the target’s side armor should be sufficient to knock it out of action. Once the initial six units are destroyed, your tank’s enhanced thermal vision will be unlocked to let you locate and destroy the last two tanks using the dust storm to hide.

How To Copy Xbox 360 Games And Save A Bundle

01.10.12

Have you ever bought a game, an amazing game, one that you played all the time until it got damaged or broken? Putting the money down to buy a second copy is the painful reality if this happens. But that doesn’t have to be the only option. If you make the small effort and take a few minutes to backup your games, you will never have to worry about buying them again. And this will save you a lot of money.

So let’s take a look at how to copy Xbox 360 games, and do it without the annoyance that is usually involved!

A lot of the tools out there aren’t all that great. Others downright don’t work. Sure, they promise you a lot, but in the end they are a let down. Either they’re too complicated to use or, more likely, they just don’t live up to your expectations.

They may make error ridden copies, or things don’t work 100%. If you have ever tried to use some of these applications to burn your games, you know what I mean.

The music might be a mess, or they aren’t perfect one to one duplicates. In either case, the backups, if you can call them that, aren’t much more than a wasted DVD. There is only one word that can describe the feeling you get when you realize your game is broken and you don’t have a backup: horrifying.

I don’t think there is a gamer out there that hasn’t lost a game for one reason or another. It doesn’t matter how careful you are with your collection, games break. And they aren’t cheap. In fact they are only getting more expensive as time goes by. Put both those reasons together, and all you get is frustrated.

If you have ever tried to copy an Xbox 360 game, you will also know how frustrating it can be without the right software. But it doesn’t have to be.

Making a copy of an Xbox game, a perfect copy, comes down to only one thing. And you don’t need to be a computer wiz either, all you need is the right piece of software.

And what I mean by that is you need software that can decrypt your games, and allow you to transfer the data to a new disc. This may sound easy enough, and when done with the right application it is. But as I mentioned earlier in this article, there are a lot of applications out there, and not all of them work.

So if you’re planning on backing up your investment and saving a bundle, pick one that will be able to make real copies of your game.

Battlefield 3 – My Battle Experience

01.07.12

I just got Battlefield 3 plus a new XBOX 360 with Kinect (plus the Microsoft $50 rebate for the Kinect) and I haven’t had so much fun blowing the crap out of ‘the enemy’ and I haven’t even experienced the Multi Player mode. Yes, this is all in Single Player which is reported to be ‘ordinary’ compared to the Multi Player online mode. Hey, I’m still having a lot of fun action pack flying Tomcat F-15 off an aircraft carrier, hunting down a nuke, driving tanks, shooting the 50 mm, crawling around a war-torn city, earthquakes, yes quite an experience.

I only discovered one bug, where I’m trying to kick in a door by pressing the red ‘B’, but nothing happens. It looks like Battlefield 3 is in a loop. I left the game running for a few minutes while getting some soldier food, and lone behold, tried pressing the red ‘B’ a few more times and I was able to kick the door in.

The other part of Battlefield 3 I had a difficult time getting pass is when I confronted the baddie who had the nuke up in the train station. After pressing the red ‘B’ then the Right Trigger, I kept getting thrown in front of the bloody train. I found a reference to how to beat this guy a IGN.com and here is the clue.

Pursue and Catch HVT

Catch up (don’t shoot) to the fleeing suspect and repeat the above inputs for the QTE. Remember:

  • B (Xbox 360) is E (PC) and CIRCLE (PS3)
  • RT (Xbox 360) is LMB (PC) and R1 (PS3)
  • A (Xbox 360) is Spacebar (PC) and X (PS3)

Basically with the XBox 360, you run up the train station stairs, get punched in the face, then you have to press the ‘B’, “Right Trigger’ then the ‘A’ in this sequence. Once I discovered you have to also press the ‘A’, then everything was pretty cool, and I got to toss the little shit in front of the train for a change.
